Reindeer Landing at Heritage Mall
Reindeer Landing at Heritage Mall
Two of Santa’s key reindeer will be making a stop to check in on Santa at Heritage Mall on December 20, 2013 from 11:00 am to 3:00pm. The public can meet Prancer and Cupid as they rest up for their Christmas Eve journey in their pen located at the exterior Mall entry near Sears. Santa has been visiting Heritage Mall, finding out what local children want for Christmas. According to Santa, “ I have been so pleased to find so many more nice children than naughty!”
In the off season Prancer and Cupid summer with the rest of Santa’s reindeer team at Timberview Farm, in Oregon’s Mohawk Valley, East of Springfield.
According to Timberview Farm’s web-site (www.timberviewfarm.net), reindeer are the only living species of hoofed animal which exists around the whole northern hemisphere above 60 degrees of latitude. Reindeer live in the lower 48 states throughout Canada and are still viable working animals in Scandinavian countries, Mongolia, Russia and Alaska. Rock-carvings indicate that stone-age hunters caught and tamed reindeer to use as decoy animals (for hunting) as early as 5,000 years ago.
Santa is looking forward to being reunited with two of his favorite reindeer and Heritage Mall is excited to provide the opportunity for kids of all ages to see them in person.
