HERITAGE MALL HOSTS COOL KIDS SAVE EVENT IN CELEBRATION OF FINANCIAL LITERACY MONTH
April 12, 2016 – Albany, OR. Heritage Mall hosts its first annual Cool Kids Save Event on April 16, 2016 from 11am–12:30pm in celebration of Financial Literacy Month, in partnership with Linn-Co Federal Credit Union. The event will be held at Heritage Mall near the Food Court located at 1895 14th Avenue SE, Albany, OR 97322.
The goal of this event is to encourage youth that saving money is essential by engaging them in fun activities that promote the importance of financial literacy. Parental participation in this festivity is equally important, as they are the primary role models at home.
Some of the fun activities this event will include are: a pirate puppet show revolving around savings, bean bag toss games for prizes, free activity books for each child and paint-your-own ceramic robot banks.
April is also National Credit Union Youth Month and Linn-Co Federal Credit Union will be at the event demonstrating how to write checks and giving out free play checkbooks, running a cash counting machine, giving out Frisbees and stress relievers, opening new youth savings accounts (and paying the five-dollar deposit) and holding a drawing to win $100 in cash.
This event is free and open to the public. Heritage Mall continues to serve the community with family-oriented events throughout the year.
